Glass Door Merchandising Freezer
These hard working units are everywhere and once you have read this you will start noticing them more and more. Glass door merchandising freezers are used to offer self-service desserts, ice cream or frozen food items. Liquor stores, convenience stores, and markets of all sizes use these because of the great product display and impulse buying they create.
These units are available in single, double, and triple door versions. The three door freezers are usually dual voltage needing 240 and 120 volt circuits. Some come with hinged doors and some with sliding doors. The most popular exterior finish these days is black with a white interior, but for freezers, you may still like to use a white exterior. Stainless steel exteriors and interiors are sometimes offered as a significant up charge.
Merchandiser units are listed under NSF-7 for the storage and display of packaged product and are not designed to store open food containers. This is very important. These units are not suitable for back of the house kitchen storage. Most units have bottom-mounted compressors positioned for easy maintenance. The “No stoop” lower shelf maximizes visibility by raising product to higher level. These units do not come with legs or casters and are designed to sit on the floor with simple levelers. Because of this bottom mount condenser design, most merchandisers use the top for extra storage.
Most of these come with a lighted sign at the top to draw attention and merchandise your products. The standard sign panel can be easily replaced with something you make yourself, but please note that many large brands offer several sign options free, as long as you specify it when ordering.
